How Does A Website Get Ranked

Search engines send electronic robots to spider, or in plain English, to read and understand your site. These spiders are trying to make sense of your site’s code and determine if it’s technically correct enough to be ranked and where it should be categorized. Our seo content manager structures your site to ensure that the spiders get what they need. Search Engines have come a long way and they make sure when you search for an item, the results match your search criteria very closely. This makes it harder for sites to rank well unless they are technically accurate. There was a time when you could put a ton of keywords in your home page and even if they didn’t fit what your site was about, you might still rank for those words…not anymore. Now the content and the keywords must fit one another and the descriptions of the site have to be accurate. There was a time when you could use a simple technique - tables to hold pictures and text in place and now that same technique can block the robots. Our seo content manager uses the techniques that the major search engines are looking for and will help improve your traffic.

Many sites are constructed in ways that cause road blocks for the search engines. It can be likened to reading a book on a subject that is full of terminology that you don’t understand. If you can’t understand the terminology how could you ever understand the material? As a reader you can grab a dictionary and look up the meaning of the words, but the search engines aren’t going to spend the time and effort to work with a technically inaccurate site.  This is a major reason to consider our search engine optimized content manager. If the spiders can't understand the language, they’re leaving and not going to rank you. So why would you confuse the search engines? The answer for most is that they really don’t know what to do. They have no idea what the search engines are looking for. Often, a company hires an outside firm but really has no idea if that firm will really help them. One of the biggest problems one encounters when working with an outside firm is that the site isn’t ranking and the contractor tells you “Well…it takes time.” How do you know when it should rank? How much time does it take? The truth is that no site shoots to the top as soon as it’s launched. However, you should see some pages move up in the first several weeks, if the job was done right. As an example, we launched a site on September 17, and by the 28, we had 5 pages ranking number one. This particular site has over 100 pages. The business owner increased his business immediately from the increase in traffic (see our testimonial page to read his story).

Getting a website ranked and Search Engine Optimization is about doing the job right, continuing to do the job right and keeping your site high in the rankings all the time. We started as a manual SEO firm and found out that if you’re any good at what you do, you’ll have more clients than you can take care of manually. If you don’t have too many clients to handle – you’re probably just not that good at what you do. The catch 22 is that success ultimately hurts the clients of manual firms and a lack of success puts the SEO out of business. Hiring new people to grow the firm isn’t very effective because they all have their own technique and ideas and stray from what worked to begin with. We handled that problem by automating the techniques of a world leader in SEO, Dave Barry. We update our software as the search engines change their algorithms and keep you up in the rankings. Because we’ve automated the process we’re generally less expensive and more reliable than the manual firms. Try us…you won’t regret it!
